Veneers That Look Like You, Only Better.
Porcelain veneers are one of the most effective ways to transform the shape, colour and overall appearance of your smile, and as a cosmetic dentist serving patients across Liverpool, the Wirral and Merseyside, they're one of my most requested treatments. I create thin, custom made porcelain shells that bond carefully to the front of your teeth to address everything from stubborn staining and small chips to uneven edges, gaps and teeth that just don't look quite right.
Porcelain Veneers. Naturally Stunning Results.
Porcelain veneers are one of the most transformative treatments I offer, creating beautifully natural looking results for patients across Liverpool, the Wirral and Merseyside who want to improve the shape, colour or overall appearance of their smile. Each veneer is a thin, custom made shell of tooth coloured porcelain, carefully bonded to the front surface of your tooth and designed to complement your facial features rather than overshadow them.
I often recommend veneers for things like stains or discolouration that haven't responded to whitening, chips, cracks, small gaps, or teeth that look uneven or misshapen. Porcelain is my material of choice because it mimics the natural translucency of tooth enamel so closely, and with the right care it stays bright and stain resistant for many years. If you're ready to find out what porcelain veneers could do for your smile, book a consultation and let's start planning.

Consultation and Planning
You will have your first appointment with Dr Anthony Barnes. He will assess your teeth and suitability for Composite bonding treatment. Clinical assessment, photographs, x-rays and a 3D scan using the latest digital technology will be carried out.
Anthony will discuss your treatment needs and goals and advise if additional treatment or alternatives may be more suitable for your smile.

Design Process
If you are suitable for treatment, Dr Anthony Barnes will create your bespoke smile design either using a digitally planned smile design (DSD) based on your discussions during the consultation stage.
This will be transferred as a mock-up into your mouth directly to show you how your newly designed bespoke smile will appear. At this stage any changes can be made.

Preparation
A small amount of tooth structure is removed typically from the front surface of the tooth to make room for the veneer. In some cases, no tooth structure will need to be removed.
Dr Anthony Barnes will keep this to a minimum using minimally invasive dental techniques. Once this has been achieved; a 3D scan will be carried out of the newly adjusted teeth. This will be used for our experienced lab technicians to create your veneers.

Temporary Veneers
While the permanent veneers are being made, temporary veneers will be provided to protect your teeth.

Bonding
Once your porcelain veneers are ready, you will return for Dr Anthony Barnes to bond them in place. Firstly he will try them on, make any adjustments, and then bond them to your teeth using a strong adhesive.

Final Check
Anthony will ensure that the veneers fit comfortably, function well, and match the natural colour of your teeth. An adjustment/polish/review appointment is normally required following placement.

Why Choose Porcelain Veneers?
Benefits of Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are one of the most popular smile transformation treatments I carry out for patients across Liverpool, the Wirral and Merseyside, and it's easy to see why. The results can be dramatic while still looking completely natural, and with good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, they can last anywhere from 10 to 15 years or more. Porcelain is also highly resistant to staining, so your smile stays bright long after treatment. Compared to crowns, veneers are a relatively conservative option too, requiring only a small amount of natural tooth structure to be removed.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
Veneers are a permanent treatment. Because a small amount of enamel is removed during preparation, it's a decision worth taking time over, which is exactly why I take a thorough and considered approach at the consultation stage. It's also worth knowing that although porcelain is strong and durable, veneers can chip or crack under excessive force, so patients who grind their teeth may need additional protection.
For patients across Liverpool, the Wirral and Merseyside looking for a long lasting solution to deep staining, uneven tooth shape or minor misalignment that whitening or orthodontics alone can't fix, porcelain veneers are often the most effective route to the smile they've always wanted.
